- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Cook pasta shells according to package directions. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- Brown ground turkey in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cooked turkey, onion, and garlic mixture.
- Spread about 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the turkey and cheese mixture.
- Arrange the stuffed shells in the baking dish.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted and lightly browned.
Notes
- You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the turkey mixture for a bit of heat.
- Fresh basil can be used as a garnish after baking.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
