1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
1/4 cup milk
1 large egg, beaten
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup ketchup (for topping, optional)
1 tablespoon brown sugar (for topping, optional)
1 teaspoon yellow mustard (for topping, optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish or on a baking sheet.
If using, in a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard for the topping. Spread this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

You can add other vegetables like grated carrots or bell peppers to the mixture for added flavor and nutrition.
