- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth.
- Season with dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for at least 30 minutes, or up to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot over pasta.
