- 1 cup sourdough starter (active)
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, mix sourdough starter, flour, granulated sugar, butter, egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Add baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts (if using). Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
