Million Dollar Lasagna is a rich and creamy lasagna featuring beef, three cheeses, and a homemade sauce. It is perfect for family dinners or potlucks.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in spaghetti sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another medium bowl, beat cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  5. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  6. Spread about 1/2 cup of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Arrange 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  8. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  9. Top with half of the cream cheese mixture.
  10. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  11. Repeat layers.
  12. Top with remaining 4 noodles and meat sauce.
  13. Cover with foil.
  14. Bake for 30 minutes.
  15. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted.
  16. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use a combination of ground beef and ground lamb.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat sauce for a little heat.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, simmer it for a longer period.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
