These flavorful turkey kofta are simple to prepare and perfect for a quick weeknight meal. Serve them with a fresh salad, rice, or in pita bread for a delicious and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped onion, fresh parsley, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix all ingredients thoroughly with your hands until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small, elongated patties or meatballs, about 1.5 inches in length.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Place the kofta in the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite accompaniments.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of cayenne pepper.
  • You can also bake these kofta at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Leftover kofta can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
