1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
12 no-boil lasagna noodles
1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
1 large egg
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain off excess fat.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, and parsley.
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Arrange 3-4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
