This easy baked French toast casserole is perfect for breakfast or brunch. It’s simple to prepare and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread, cut into cubes
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place bread cubes in the dish.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Pour mixture over bread cubes. Press bread down to soak.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  7. Mix brown sugar and melted butter. Drizzle over casserole.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
