These cinnamon roll croissants offer a delightful twist on two classic pastries. They combine the flaky, buttery layers of a croissant with the sweet, spiced filling of a cinnamon roll. Perfect for breakfast or brunch, they are a treat that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14 ounce) package refrigerated croissant dough
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the croissant dough and separate into triangles.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Spread a thin layer of this mixture over each croissant triangle.
  4. Starting from the wide end, roll up each croissant triangle. Arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. While the croissants are baking, prepare the glaze. In another small bowl, whisk together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  7. Once the croissants are out of the oven and slightly cooled, drizzle the cream cheese glaze over them.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • If you prefer a thinner glaze, add a little more milk, a teaspoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  • These croissants are best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
