1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Brown ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
Stir in mushroom soup, diced tomatoes, water, mustard, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
Add cooked macaroni and 1 cup of cheddar cheese to the skillet. Mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
You can substitute other types of pasta like rotini or penne.
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the ground beef mixture.
