This cheeseburger casserole combines ground beef, cheese, and pasta for a comforting meal. It’s a family-friendly dish that’s simple to prepare and satisfying.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Brown ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Stir in mushroom soup, diced tomatoes, water, mustard, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add cooked macaroni and 1 cup of cheddar cheese to the skillet. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • You can substitute other types of pasta like rotini or penne.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the ground beef mixture.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
