Soft, fluffy sourdough cinnamon rolls with a sweet cinnamon filling and creamy glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix sourdough starter, warm milk, sugar, melted butter, and egg in a bowl.
  2. Add flour and salt, knead until smooth. Let rise for 4-6 hours.
  3. Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 pieces.
  5. Place in a greased pan. Let rise 1-2 hours.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • Use active sourdough starter for best results.
  • Let dough rise until doubled in size.
  • Adjust cinnamon and sugar to taste.
