A simple and nutritious 1-pot green lentil dal. This dish is packed with protein and flavor, perfect for a quick and healthy meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup green lentils, rinsed
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook until softened.
  3. Stir in turmeric, cumin, coriander, and chili powder. Cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add lentils and water. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes until lentils are tender.
  6. Season with salt. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes
